Lelaina takes huge inspiration from portraiture in her works. “Tarnished: Paintings for the Living” is an exploration into growing up with mental illness and navigation through day to day. Using colors and vintage pearls, gold and crystals, she connects those who view her art. It’s human nature to feel tarnished for the things we cannot control. The paintings in this exhibition are for the lived, the living and the living to come.
Lelaina’s work is recognized by striking stylized portrayals of the human body and portraiture, carefully chosen colors and passion for creating.
