My mother, Mary Lou Charles, an accomplished watercolorist now in her 80s, has always encouraged others to "get into painting." She claimed she found it to be relaxing. When I first picked up a brush a few years ago, I discovered the meditative joy she spoke of. Working mainly with acrylics and with some watercolor, I try to capture light's beauty and tranquility in indoor and outdoor spaces.
