Restless in his retirement from the Materials Research Institute at Penn State and looking for a challenge, Timothy V. Klinger of Pennsylvania Furnace decided to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in early 2021.

Klinger captured many photographs during this 2,193-mile hike which his wife and artist, Peg Klinger then reproduced in either oil or watercolor for this unique exhibit.
