Photographs: Native People of Kenya & Zimbabwe
Although I have been a painter for most of my life, there was a period when I was very serious about photography, especially capturing people of various cultures.
In these difficult times where much concern is about justice and the Black Lives Matter Movement, I thought it would be appropriate to share photos I took from an amazing trip to Africa in December of 1989.
Probably my most exciting adventure was having the privilege of living for three days in a Maasia enclave in Kenya, thanks to my niece who had made friends with them while she worked as a guide for the National Outdoor Leadership School. We had been invited to stay in the hut of one large family, eat their food (rice and fresh milk almost exclusively) and gather honey from ground bee nests for a sweet treat.Virtual Slideshow: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2696186083950059
