Recycled Illusions on the Path to Singularity
Creating this installation for the Bellefonte Art Museum window gallery has proven to be a great challenge, a unique exhibition space that I've looked forward to working with. I will consider the project complete after reading the responses in my show journal, this I find to be a significantly rewarding aspect to my artwork, bringing fullness to the overall vision.
This body of work is inspired by contemplations on cycles of life, the interplay of spiritual and material realms, and the rise and fall of the machines. All portrayed in a fun parody-like manner, of course. Perhaps a Sci-Fi show of sorts, however, by all means deep philosophical and existential questions abound.
The work is designed to be viewed as a narrative, moving from the back parking lot side toward the front of the museum. Ultimately, I hope to have created an interesting and entertaining art viewing experience for visitors to the museum and majestic town of Bellefonte.
