The C19 Photo Project: A Time to Remember and A Time to Forget
Centre County Residents
Online 2020 and Gallery Exhibit 2021
April 27 - May 31
An exhibition of photos taken during the pandemic by members of the Centre County community and then assembled and exhibited by the Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County.
The C19 Photo Project is a plan to display a collection of photographs created during the pandemic that will record our observations and document our memories. We envision the photographic works to be the visual reflections of local residents, so we welcome anyone in Central Pennsylvania to submit work. Submissions are limited to black and white or sepia images and, please submit no more than five works per person. The photographs must be sent electronically. Each image must include the title of the photograph, the name of the photographer and the place where the photo was taken. These images will then be shared online as they are received at the museum and stored to be considered for inclusion in the Gallery show 2021. Museum curators will choose a selection of images for the show. Not all submissions will be included in the exhibition. The collection will be on display at the Bellefonte Art Museum, Special Exhibits Gallery, sometime in 2021. This collective body of work will be shared with museum visitors while on exhibit at the museum, with the intent of preserving it for future generations. If enough funding is acquired a gallery guide will accompany the show.
In addition to the photography, verbal observations are welcome. These phrases and fragments of thought will add another dimension of our experiences.
