Adventures in My Mother's Lipstick
Flipping through an art catalog looking for fresh ideas, I stumbled upon oil pigment sticks. The description shared that this recently developed tool applies like lipstick. Immediately intrigued, I knew I found my next adventure.
This show explores boundaries - parental, physical, emotional, energetic and spiritual. The loose and free application of this crayon-like instrument led me to a younger time of smearing lipstick way beyond my lip line. This sense of exuberance and limitlessness sparked an examination of adult-acquired and self-imposed boundaries.
