Hi,my name is Jim Jackson. I have a BS in Art Education from the Edinboro University and a Masters in art from the University of Pittsburgh. I recently retired from teaching Art after 31 years, the last 16 years at Bald Eagle School District. My Art work is generally inspired by nature and various cultural Art, especially the Pacific Northwest Indians.
I work in a variety of mediums, including stone, copper, watercolor and everything in between. Currently I am carving in Black Walnut. Each piece is a one of a kind design that is drawn directly on the wood, hand carved, stained and then finished with 2 coats of polyurethane. Each piece, depending on the size and difficulty of the design, takes between 25 to 60 hours to complete.
