My name is Clara Nguyen. The story of The Heart and Head Project began on a winter's afternoon in early March of 2023. However, the story really began years ago. When I was five, I remember walking into the kitchen to see my mother and announced, "I'm going to be an artist!" My mother was duly horrified. My career path has taken me alongside the arts, weaving in and out of being directly involved to working on the sidelines. Art has always been a fraught subject, caught between my thinking mind and feeling heart. This project is a visual expression of these thoughts and feelings. Drawn to color and abstract forms, the works of The Heart and Head Project are bright interpretations of a captured moment. Since my paintings are typically inspired by a story or a moment in time, the shapes and colors are meant to encourage the viewer's own thoughts and narratives. Currently, materials include acrylic paint and black ink.
